By Megan Thomas

Trevor Noah’s “Born a Crime” is hilarious and brilliant and all of those good things. As a South African, I read it with a constant smile of understanding, often thinking to myself “huh. What a perfect way of putting it”.
But the most commendable part is that it’s not limited to a South African audience and is written such that anyone in the world could pick it up and laugh along as if they had shared his experiences.
Noah has – as he always does – found the sweet spot for storytelling difficult times, laughing through painful memories and ensuring the reader is comfortable doing the same. His voice, clear and honest as ever, speaking to you as if over a cup of tea.
