By Megan Thomas

An absolute classic that is heart-warming and lovely. The March sisters have a special place in my heart, and I think there’s a little bit of everyone in all of them, which is what makes Little Women such a pleasure to read.
Meg, Beth, Jo and Amy struggle to navigate New England during the Civil War, coming of age in a complicated world, yet struggling still with the everyday frivolities of life: of romantic jealousy, of Christmas presents, of sewing. I’m not sure sisterly devotion exists anywhere else in literature with such simultaneous beauty and ferocity.
