By Megan Thomas

I know reading a play is not for everyone, but this story is so interesting and moving that I think anyone can enjoy it. It’s a political satire, originally written as a protest piece, that hypothesises what would happen if the second coming of Christ occurred in apartheid South Africa.
Written by Percy Mtwa, Mbongeni Norma and Barney Simon, whose characters take on the roles of a vendor, a barber, a servant, a manual labourer and a soldier, the play is a striking, confrontational and unmistakably brilliant exhibit of South African theatre.
