By Megan Thomas

I read a seriously abridged picture book as a child, and the full novel as an adult, and both were equally enjoyable for different reasons. It’s ludicrously sensible and pointlessly meaningful, and when the world has made so many adaptations of Wonderland, it can be easy to forget how simply lovely the original book is.
Tightroping absurdism and delightfully whimsical, this is one to add to your children’s classics TBR pile – and one to encourage your children to read. Follow Alice down the rabbit hole and explore the world Lewis Carroll left down there for us.
