I started reading Gary Raymond’s novel en route to London from Cardiff, and finished it on the way back. It’s a literary thriller based in Cyprus with an artist, a curious Russian benefactor and some strange goings-on, that manages to maintain pace and excitement without frills or unrealistic plot twists.
Beautiful imagery, quick yet effective characterisation, subtle mystery and not to mention a damn awesome cover. It’s positioned on the only #artwork I have at home, but I think it works – it’s a Tad Carpenter print. Check out his newest book: How Love Actually Ruined Christmas (Or Colourful Narcotics)
